FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Getting started

What documents do I need?+

For salaried filers: Form 16, AIS/TIS download, and bank interest certificate. Investors add broker capital-gains statements; freelancers add bank statements and expense summaries. The app shows your exact checklist — with why each document matters — after a 2-minute questionnaire.

Which ITR form am I?+

You don't need to know. The questionnaire maps your income sources to ITR-1 through ITR-4 automatically, and your CA double-checks the form choice during review.

Is a consultation call included?+

Your plan covers everything needed to file your return — CA preparation, AIS/26AS reconciliation, old-vs-new regime comparison, and e-filing. A one-to-one consultation call isn't part of the plan fee; when it's offered, you can request one — it's arranged directly with your CA and may involve an additional fee, agreed with them.

When do I pay?+

After the questionnaire recommends your plan, before document upload. One flat, all-inclusive price — the amount you see is the amount you pay — with a full refund if we can't file your return.

During preparation

Old regime or new regime — which should I pick?+

You don't have to pick. Your CA computes tax under both regimes and files under whichever saves you more. You see the comparison before approving.

What is a "query" and why did I get one?+

When something in your documents doesn't line up — say AIS shows interest you didn't declare, or a deduction lacks proof — your CA raises a query in the app instead of guessing. You confirm, upload proof, or chat back; the return only moves forward with your answer.

What if I'm missing a document?+

Submit anyway. Your CA reviews what you have and raises a query for exactly what's missing — often with instructions on where to download it.

After filing

What is e-verification and why does it matter?+

A filed return isn't valid until you e-verify it within 30 days — otherwise it's treated as never filed. Aadhaar OTP takes 2 minutes; we guide you step-by-step and chase you until it's done.

When will I get my refund?+

Refunds are issued by the Income Tax Department, typically 2–5 weeks after e-verification, straight to your bank account. We track it and notify you when it lands.

What if I get a notice later?+

Forward it to us. Your CA reviews the notice and drafts the response. Most notices are simple mismatches that our reconciliation already prevents.

Can I revise my return?+

Yes — revisions before 31 Dec 2026 are supported. If the error was ours, the revision is free.

Trust & data

Who actually files my return?+

A qualified Chartered Accountant. Every return is prepared and reviewed by a qualified Chartered Accountant — you approve the final computation before anything is filed.

Is my data safe?+

256-bit encryption in transit and at rest, access strictly limited to your assigned CA, every access logged. Your data never leaves secure servers without your consent, and you can request deletion any time from Profile → Delete my data.
